The 2005 Unity Workshop, to be held with
media professionals Saturday, November 12, is being sponsored by the
Indianapolis Association of Black Journalists (IABJ), Indiana Professional
Chapter of the Society of Professional Journalists (SPJ) and the Franklin
College Pulliam School of Journalism. Workshop sessions will be in the
Johnson Center for Fine Arts at Franklin College. Members of the Indiana
High School Press Association are being notified of the event along with
other groups that work with minority students at the high school level. This
year’s event features:

Free workshop featuring presentations by media
professionals, including a keynote address by Stephen C. Miller, who reports
on technology trends for The New York Times. He also serves on
the board of Investigative Reporters and Editors and is past president of
the New York Association of Black Journalists

Awarding of two $2,500 SPJ scholarships for
seniors (Selection will be based in part on the deadline-writing competition
during the program.)
